


Quality of life is important for all of us which is why care for the environment inevitably features high on any regeneration agenda. The framework for all development has been conservation through regeneration, an active policy that has steered planned development and influenced designs of MDAs (major development areas) such as Berryfields.
In January 2008 Buckinghamshire County Council decided to set up a Conservation Trust to look after and open up the Medieval Village and Tudor Garden at Quarrendon, Aylesbury. This Scheduled Ancient Monument site is placed between the planned housing major development sites of Berryfields (A41 North) and Weedon Hill (A413 North).

On the Watermead site, these environmental issues were addressed head on with the lake acting as a focal point for the residents and with surrounding wildlife areas being actively preserved.
