A vital element in the overall Vision to create an accessible and integrated transport infrastructure for Aylesbury town centre, Southcourt Bridge will play a pivotal role in easing pedestrian and cycle access from the south side of Aylesbury into the civic and commercial heart.
This major project supported by £1.8 m of Community Infrastructure Funding (CIF) begins in autumn 2007 enabling the replacement of the old sub-standard structure. This will provide the only non-vehicular access from the areas south of the railway line, Southcourt, Aylesbury College’s campus, Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School and beyond.
With a strategic position at the edge of the railway station the new bridge forms a striking architectural feature – a gateway into an Aylesbury already experiencing a period of dynamic growth and transformation.
