An acute hospital situated on the edge of Aylesbury and with a worldwide reputation for advanced medical practice, Stoke Mandeville is in the forefront of health care. Stoke Mandeville is being transformed with an extensive refurbishment and reconstruction programme that will upgrade facilities. Clinicians and the Primary Care Trust along with GPs, staff and patient representatives have all had the opportunity to influence the redevelopment so that it best serves the patients’ interests.
New wards will allow for a greater measure of privacy and dignity and will be more strategically located to improve patient treatment. There will also be new day case theatres that will meet the needs of Aylesbury Vale people now and into the future.
