One of the businesses affected by the Buncefield Oil Depot explosion has relocated to Aylesbury Vale.
Colbree Precision Limited, an engineering group which specialises in high quality precision components, moved from Hemel Hempstead after suffering extensive damage following the explosion which tore through the town in December 2005.
The company is now located in bigger and better premises at the Pitstone Green Business Park. The new premises were officially opened by Chairman of the Council, Councillor Sue Polhill, on 19 April 2006.
Colbree Precision is looking to expand its business following the relocation, which will create new job opportunities and is also hoping to work with other companies in the local area.
David Field, General Manager of Colbree Precision, said: “When the Buncefield Oil Depot exploded it destroyed our company- we were just 200 metres from the main blast, which lifted the company from the ground and dropped it back under such force that 95 per cent of our precision machinery was rendered useless!”
“We needed to find new premises for the company following the explosion and the business park in Pitstone was the best option for us. The premises are ideal for the company and we are very happy to be doing business in Aylesbury Vale.”
Councillor Peter Cooper, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, commented: “We are delighted that Colbree Precision has relocated to Aylesbury Vale. It’s a real boost to the local economy and we hope the company will prosper in its new environment.”
