Local businesses in Aylesbury are predicting a boom thanks to new regeneration projects taking place in and around the district. With various projects planned for 2006, there is more than a positive feeling amongst business owners. Aylesbury Vale Advantage is working closely with local partners to promote the expansion of work, housing and education opportunities within the area. With population growth predicted and new homes being built, there has never been a better time for businesses to come to the area. Managing Director of Corporate Identity UK Limited, Anthony Ososki first moved to Aylesbury in the early 1970’s and admits to not seeing it as a business development area due to its agricultural associations. But after returning in the late 1980’s observed a constant and professional approach moving forward. “I have seen the introduction of many initiatives in and around the town, taking every aspect of trade and commerce forward in harmony with the dynamic social and community plans which seem to characterise the local authorities at all levels, and I must say that there is a positive feeling here which pervades all the various facets of social and commercial life. Rail and motorway links are excellent and working here is both rewarding and stimulating”. Chris Howard, Director of the IT Bureau shares the same view; “We have been based in Aylesbury since October 2004 and looked around at several other possible places to base ourselves but this is an ideal area with a lot of investment potential now and in the future. It gave us a good feeling that there was so much potential here. Aylesbury District Council have been very helpful in assisting us with the setting up of our business”. Steve Read, Director of Signs Express (Aylesbury) also has high aspirations for his Aylesbury based business: “I recognise the business potential of the Aylesbury area, which has excellent road and rail links and is set to expand over the next few years”. Greg Lomax, Managing Director of Aylesbury Vale Association said, “Apart from being a business-friendly place, Aylesbury Vale has a great deal to offer in terms of being a place to live, learn, and socialise. There will be enhancements in housing, employment, health, transport, education, and the environment which will offer something for everyone”.
