Richard HarringtonManaging Director, Aylesbury Vale Advantage
"I am delighted to succeed Greg Lomax as Managing Director of Aylesbury Vale Advantage (AVA). A review of both operations and our Board structure over the summer period means that there is a great deal to do over the coming year. AVA has recently adopted a new business plan which sets out clear priorities for the AVA team and the individual programme groups to implement.

A great deal of preparatory and planning work has already been undertaken but our future priorities will focus on delivery, partner engagement, alignment of growth and regeneration priorities with MKSM. In addition it is vital that to ensure that we attract more investment into sustainable employment and residential opportunities.

I am greatly looking forward to helping Aylesbury meet its potential."

Richard Harrington’s career path has straddled both sides of the regeneration fence. Working as a Chartered Town Planner and Chartered Surveyor for 16 years, Richard gained valuable planning consultancy experience within the private sector, followed by a variety of regeneration roles. Formerly at East Midlands Development Agency, he was instrumental in developing the ‘Blueprint’ joint venture property investment fund with Igloo as well as launching an Urban Action Plan and securing Government backing for an Urban Regeneration Company in Derby. Richard was recruited into English Partnerships specifically to develop and manage a programme of town centre regeneration initiatives and major strategic projects, which included implementation of the national growth area strategy for the Harlow-Cambridge-Peterborough corridor and Milton Keynes South Midlands areas. Richard has represented both the RDA and EP on a number of Growth and Regeneration Local Delivery Boards throughout the East Midlands and the East of England. He is currently the Managing Director of Aylesbury Vale Advantage, on a twelve month secondment from EP.
