Last call for entries to The Bucks Enterprise Awards 2010

The closing date for entries to this year’s Bucks Enterprise Awards is the 30th November 2009.  Your company can join by completing the Entry Pack found on BELP’s website.

The Awards are in recognition of the significant contribution which the private sector in Buckinghamshire makes towards the national economy.  Aylesbury Vale Advantage is sponsoring the ‘Large Enterprise’ Award; any company with more than 21 employees can enter this category.

One of Aylesbury Vale Advantage’s key roles is to work with the national public sector agencies and with private companies and utilities to facilitate the installation of key hard and soft infrastructure to support housing growth and growth in the local economy. 

By participating in these Awards your company is aligning itself with other successful companies who believe in Buckinghamshire and its future success.


mksm annual conference – 10 November

The 2009 Annual mksm Conference will take place on Tuesday 10 November 2009 in Luton.

Delegates from the National and regional government, Government agencies and infrastructure providers, Local Authorities, Local Delivery Vehicles (e.g. AVA), Development professionals, Private sector investors and the Voluntary and community sector are all invited to attend to hear about recent progress arising from partnership working across mksm.

Ian Austin, MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Communities and Local Government) and Chairman of mksm Inter-regional Board is the keynote speaker. 

 David Lidington, MP for Aylesbury will also be speaking: “(The) Political Climate: Localism and growth – a view from the opposition.

This year, Aylesbury Vale Advantage is sponsoring the ‘Large Enterprise’ Award and we invite all companies of more than 21 employees to register and enter this competition.  The Awards are supported by private companies and the public sector in Buckinghamshire with the aim of recognising the contribution which local successful businesses make to the national economy and local employment. 

Aylesbury Vale Advantage is supporting employment creation by working with private companies and regional and local governmental agencies to source the funding for the provision of hard and soft infrastructure to support business in the future.   Aylesbury Vale District Council’s Local Development Framework is also supporting the growth and retention of local businesses and inward investment activities by allocating >1000,000 sq. m. of new employment space in the The Vale and in the urban area of Aylesbury Town.


New member joins the Aylesbury Vale Advantage Team

Ben Ruston has joined Aylesbury Vale Advantage (AVA) on one year, part-time supporting role from Milton Keynes Partnership, a neighbouring Local Delivery Vehicle.

Ben strengthens the AVA team and will be providing project support for the Town and District’s growth.  Ben brings his background in surveying and project management to AVA, along with 8 years experience working for English Partnerships and more recently the Homes and Communities Agency.

Ben will be involved with aiding the delivery of key projects that AVA are involved with, such as Silverstone and Aylesbury Electric.  In addition, He will also be assisting with the Joint Housing Programme Team.
