Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher Bt

Sir Henry is the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire and his career and interests include farming and radio broadcasting/producing

Sir Henry is currently the president of the Aylesbury Vale branch of the CPRE (since 1994): Deputy Chairman of the National Trust and Chairman of the National Trust Properties Committee: Chairman of the Buckinghamshire Rural Affairs Group (BRAG): Chairman of EB Buckinghamshire Advisory Group and a Trustee of Buckinghamshire Young Farmers. He is also currently the CLA national Vice President.

Former appointments have included Chairman Bucks Nature Conservation Forum (1997-2003): Past Chairman of Bucks Berks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (1996-2001) and High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire (1995-1996)

“AVA continues to be focused on the delivery of housing and employment within Aylesbury Vale despite the recent economic conditions within the world and our region.

AVA’s core activities for the next 18 years in relation to the delivery of the housing targets, employment targets are guided by the Local Development Framework which will be submitted to the National Planning Inspectorate in the autumn of 2009. Inter-disciplinary and inter-organisational activity including monitoring of performance against targets continues. AVA is also progressing the Aylesbury Town Centre Master Plan, due for completion late summer. The intention is to also produce an implementation strategy to determine where and how the public sector can assist in the delivery of infrastructure to future development sites to facilitate the private sectors engagement with Aylesbury’s growth plans; once the current global economic situations improves.

The success of our activity relates, in part, to our partnership working with other Local Delivery Vehicles and Councils within the Milton Keynes and South Midlands area. The Rt. Hon. Iain Wright MP (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State) visited Aylesbury in the winter of 2009 and expressed his appreciation of how the transport hub infrastructure project would benefit local residents while delivering sub-regional growth aspirations and government plans for an increase in modal shift from the car to public transportation.

AVA’s Executive Management Board is currently producing a new business plan for AVA which will be presented to the AVA Board for approval in the summer of 2009.”
